DelhiThe National Tribal Festival 'Aadi Mahotsav' Is Back With A Bang At Dilli Haat
India is a diverse nation and comprises 28 states and 8 union territories, creating a web of multiple cultures, languages and diversity that coexist together. And tribes are an essential part of this web of cultures, traditions and craft, constituting around 8% of the population. So to celebrate their spirit of tribal craft, art, culture and commerce, TRIFED under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs brings you the national tribal festival, Aadi Mahotsav, taking place in Dilli Haat, this February. A Celebration of Culture & Craft | The tribes of India have a wide range of handicrafts which include handwoven cotton, wool and silk fabrics, woodcrafts, metal craft, terracotta, bead-work, masques, paintings, and other objects. There is no dearth of skill and beauty that makes each piece beautiful and unique.
Which is why, TRIFED under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India has been leading the way as an impactful change agent for the transformation of the tribal economy in India and presents this exclusive event In Dilli Haat, starting from 1st February which goes on till 15th February, 2021.
The event revolves around the Adivasis and celebrates the spirit of their craft, culture, cuisine and commerce. Designed as an exhibition-cum-sale of tribal handicrafts, paintings, handloom, fabric, showpieces and jewellery, the event aims to familiarise the people with the rich and diverse art and craft of tribal communities across the country. Over 400 hundred tribal artisans will be participating from around the nation to showcase their craftsmanship and enrich the festival, and much more through 150 stalls in Dilli Haat. So, head over and soak in their rich heritage and appreciate the beauty of their craft first hand.
