Safdarjung Tomb is an imposing structure located in South Delhi that was built way back in the year 1754 for Safdarjung who was the governor of Oudh (Awadh) and later went on to become a prime minister to the Mughal Emperor Muhammad Shah! But the glorious and fascinating history of the monument aside, we’re going to tell you why you should visit this spectacular structure in the evening.

The long-standing monument is lit up by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). The LED lights illuminate the monument simplistically but set against the backdrop of the silent night, it’s certainly a sight to behold! The monument is lit up between 7:30 - 11 PM and all those twinkling lights make the view nothing less than something transcendental!

The monument is open from sunrise to sunset and is the ideal location for someone who wishes to take a stroll in the magnificent garden over here while they take in the structure that’s a symbol of an era bygone. The architecture here stays true to the Mughal style and if you’re someone who revels in studying monuments or just likes to explore those glorious buildings of the past, then you must drop by!

The radiant pictures of this structure at night are no doubt brilliant, but they hold no appeal to the dazzling sight it offers to the eyes. So, grab your DSLRs, head over to Safdarjung Tomb and capture this beautiful memory!
