After serving central Delhi for 56 long years, the iconic single screen Shiela Cinema shut shop on Friday!

We hear that on Friday, when the theatrical legend Baahubali 2 hit theatres, Shiela Cinema was not given the rights to screen this mega blockbuster due to various financial losses which is why they had to shut shop!

Let's face it, in an age where people are mostly hoarding multiplexes, it was honestly very difficult for an anciently designed single screen theatre like this to go on.

Shiela was the first cinema in the country to have a 70 mm screen. One of the biggest single screen cinema halls with a seating capacity of 980, it was also known for its trendy interiors when it had opened.

First Regal Cinema and now this, looks like certain gems are bidding goodbye to Delhi!
