The Iconic Hotel, The Oberoi is Shutting Down for a Complete Facelift

We would generally expect a massive property such as the Oberoi to remain temporarily shut for minor touch ups but this time they’re going all out and putting the shutters down for 2 long years.

We’re as surprised as you are at this sudden move by East India Hotels, the parent company of Oberoi hotels has informed Bombay Stock Exchange that the property will remain shut 1st April onwards *no, this is not an April Fool’s joke* and is expected to reopen on 1st April 2018.

An EIH official confirmed stating that the existing structure will be undergoing thorough renovation. It’s guest houses, public areas and ‘back of the house’ will all get a facelift!
