All hail the Delhi Metro! Our guardian angel is back in the news again as it will thrown open the ENTIRE Magenta Line for public use tomorrow! And if you’re still clueless as to how this will make your life easier, then you need to keep reading, as we tell you some interesting stuff about this newbie line! 

Noida-Gurgaon In 50 Mins Y’All

Now that the entire line is operational, you commuters can save upto 45 minutes of your time as you travel between South Delhi and Noida! Plus, you can travel between Noida and Gurgaon in less than 50 minutes, which would have taken you 90 minutes ordinarily. 

So all you have to do is change trains at Hauz Khas Metro Station instead of stopping at the crowded AF Rajiv Chowk Metro Station - phew! 

Escalators As Tall As A 5-Storey Building!

Here’s why you should be a super proud Delhiite, guys - the tallest escalator in India is in OUR city, beating Mumbai’s Terminal 2! Wohoo! This popular escalator can be found in Janakpuri West interchange station, so who’s up for a never-ending escalator ride? And just so you know, the escalator is as high as a five-storey building! OMG! 

The Gyan Vala Metro Line

Here’s another really unique feature of the Magenta Line - it’s touted to be the ‘knowledge corridor’ as it connects some major universities like JNU, Jamia Millia Islamia and IIT Delhi on a single line! 

So dear student janta, if you’ve been cribbing about the commute being a huge ass problem, the Magenta Line is here to your rescue! 

West Delhi Be The Star

Thanks to the Magenta Line, West Delhi will become a major hub now, as connectivity to areas like Palam, Dabri, Mahavir Enclave, Sagarpur and Dashrathpur will now become better and seamless. So basically, sauntering over to all those popular cafes in West Delhi which we’ve heard about so much is no longer a distant dream, quite literally!

For the very first time, our IGI Airport’s Terminal 1 is gonna get a metro link! And for South Delhi peeps, that means the airport is just 20 mins away! And Punjabi Bagh peeps, you can happily zip to the airport in 30 mins tops. AND, travel from Botanical Garden to the airport in JUST 35 mins! Like, how awesome can this get?

Travel The Smart (Card) Way

Forget long queues for your smart card recharge as DMRC has installed smart card vending machines at 3 Magenta Line stations, namely Botanical Garden, Janakpuri West and Terminal 1 of the IGI Airport. 

On selected stations on the Magenta Line, DMRC will also go totally counterless with token vending machines replacing token counters! 

Insta-Worthy Artwork 

Surprise, surprise! You commuters will see gorgeous artwork full of butterflies at some metro stations on the Magenta Line! So on your very first Magenta Line metro ride, keep an eye out for pretty butterfly graffiti at the Chirag Delhi Metro Station or artwork depicting fashion trends at GK Enclave Metro Station. And needless to say, keep your cameras at the ready as this art deserves all the attention on Insta!
