The Delhi Police Got New Headquarters After 44 Years & Witnessed History In The Making

Bookmark

After spending 44 years at the ITO office, Delhi Police is finally getting a brand new headquarters! Initially, the HQ was shifted to ITO from Kashmere Gate in the 1970s. And on 31st October, it was shifted to a 17 storied tower at Jai Singh Marg. Since the ’70s, the HQ was proudly headed by 20 IPS Officers. Read on to find out more about this news.

Modernisation For The 1st Time In 4 Decades | Currently developed on a private-public partnership model, the new headquarters can easily accommodate up to 1,000 cars. 12 residential flats are being made on each floor, with the building being earthquake resistant. The new building also includes 2 lavish offices for the Commissioner, a seating arrangement for 150 top IPS officers, and is constructed in an area of 8.90 lakh sq ft, with a height of 75 meters.

Illuminated with LED lights, there would be CCTV cameras fitted in every corner. For meetings, high-resolution video projectors would be used, boom barriers and modern road blockers to keep dubious vehicles out of the way will be deployed.

We’re rooting for this brand new development and we cannot wait to see the final fort-like building!
