We were all made aware that starting tomorrow, vaccinations for all those aged above 18 years would be made available in the country however, this drive will not be starting from tomorrow in Delhi and here’s all you need to know about this recent development.

Delay In Vaccine Drive? | The Delhi Government has announced that they will not be able to start vaccinating those aged above 18 years of age from the 1st of May, i.e. tomorrow as there are not enough vaccines. However, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal reassured everyone that it will begin in 1-2 days as the consignments haven’t reached the city yet. Hence, he appealed to the masses to not queue up outside the vaccination centre tomorrow.

3 lakh doses of vaccines will soon be arriving with Covishield reaching the city first, either by tomorrow or the day after.

The Delhi Government has placed an order for 67 lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccines each from Bharat Biotech (Covaxin) and Serum Institute Of India (Covishield) to be administered in the next 3 months and these will be given for free to people.

He further said that a plan is being prepared to vaccinate everybody above 18 years in 3 months and the government will make a formal announcement once the doses arrive.

So, share this news with a fellow Delhiite and once the drive begins, make sure to get yourself vaccinated!

Do not queue up outside the vaccination centres tomorrow and watch this space for further updates.
