Delhi Winters can make everyone shiver with cold. And this time it has been particularly chilly, with dense fog becoming a routine affair. Here’s what you need to know if you’re planning to fly out over the weekend.
Bone-Chilling Cold | Delhizens woke up to a foggy morning on Wednesday, the 22nd of January and the temperatures dropped to 7 degrees. This impacted the flight and train operations massively because of low visibility in the city. Approximately 22 trains were running late by several hours, 30 flights were also delayed and 5 flights were diverted from the city as the visibility dropped to as low as 15 metres.
The low visibility had affected several airlines such as IndiGo, as they sent out tweets announcing their operations being affected due to dense fog. Did you know that temperatures might even drop further to 6 degrees Celcius in the next two days? Yep, the city recorded the temperatures at 9.2 degrees Celcius on Tuesday, which was 2 degrees above the normal.
