The City Has Been Under The Influence Of A Cold Spell Last Seen 22 Years Ago

Saadi Dilli continues to shiver as a blanket of cold envelops the city! And we just heard that the city has experienced the coldest spell in the past 22 years. Here’s decoding the reason behind the same.

Shivering In Cold | The maximum temperature of the city was at 4.5 degree Celsius which was lower than the normal max. temperature during the same time of the year. The city has been under the influence of the cold spell for straight 8 days if we just consider Safdarjung station and 11, if other stations are considered as well! The city last recorded similar conditions back in 1997 when the city was kept reeling under the cold spell for 13 days.

The maximum temperature recorded in the city was at 17.2 degree Celsius which was 4.2 degrees lower than the normal and the minimum temperature was 5.7 degrees Celsius which is 2 degrees below the average. The last time similar conditions were recorded during the same time in December 1997 which is 22 years earlier! This chilly spell will continue till Saturday, the 28th of December after which there might be a cold wave in the city.
