Delhi’s On An All-Time ‘High’ | So, according to recent reports, it has been estimated that Delhiites consumed booze worth Rs 1,000 crore in the month of December. The actual data on the number of bottles sold through vends, hotels and bars are being compiled, however, the amount had been calculated on the basis of the revenue generated by the Excise Department in the form of duty paid on the liquor bottles.

The Excise Department is said to have earned Rs 465 crores as duty on liquor during the month of December which is calculated based on the liquor supplied to hotels, bars and vends. It’s also said that due to the Excise Department’s decision to slash the prices of imported liquor, the sales increased, hence a hike in the revenue generated.
