Test Driving Some High-Speed Spanish Trains - Here's What's Happening!
So here’s something new - an experiment to run high-speed trains by the Spanish firm Talgo on the Delhi-Mumbai tracks is taking place at rapid speeds 160 km/hr and 200 km/hr. And all this is happening at no cost to the railways!
And if this experiment is successful, the travel time on the Delhi-Mumbai corridor would be slashed from 17 hours to 12 hours. These trains will also help reduce the power bill of railways as they’ll consume about 30% less energy. That’s impressive!
The best bit is that all this’ll not require an infrastructural upgrade either! Fingers crossed - we really need this to work out!
