On a bright sunny afternoon during the last winter month, we made our visit to the main market in Rajouri Garden for lunch. Located in the middle of Rajouri Garden is Spotlight Kitchen & Bar that offers a wide range of Continental and North Indian cuisines.

As soon as we stepped in, we were welcomed by the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant with sitting areas on both sides. At the center, there’s a bar section and kitchen where a number of mouth-watering dishes are prepared. We made ourselves comfortable right beside the bar area and here are some of the lip-smacking dishes we had!

1. Tandoori Soya Malai Chaap

The soya chaap was marinated in thick yoghurt and zesty spices and was served with some crisps and mint chutney. It was soft, juicy and immensely creamy, making for a thoroughly satisfying dish - nicely done Spotlight!

2. Ting Ming Mushroom

What immediately got our attention was its presentation – the plating was done with a bowl made of papad, which was filled with mushrooms and some crunchy veggies. It was spicy and yet flavourful. The mushrooms were fresh and soft while the veggies were crunchy, making it an overall yummy dish!

Price | Rs 225

3. Papad Paneer

As the name suggests, the dish was as crunchy as papad and as soft as fresh paneer! The chunky rectangular pieces of paneer were coated in crumbled papad, served with spicy buffalo sauce and needless to say, we polished off every last morsel!

Price | Rs 245

4. Arancini

Their Arancini comprised Italian rice balls which were deep fried and served with sundried tomatoes and tomato basil dip. The dip was deliciously zesty and paired really well with the rice balls, and we happily devoured the entire plateful!

5. Waffle Brownie Sundae

We ended our lunch with their Waffle Brownie Sundae. The freshly baked waffle was loaded with chocolate syrup, crumbled brownies and a scoop of creamy ice cream. The dessert was garnished with sprinkles to make it more colourful, and we loved every single mouthful!

Price | Rs 145

The overall ambiance was nice and soothing, making it a perfect place for a leisurely lunch or dinner with friends and family. They also have a cool variety of cocktails and other alcoholic drinks along with a large menu of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies. Our take - next time you find yourself in Rajouri, head straight to Spotlight Kitchen & Bar!
