Nursery Turned Heritage Site | The Sunder Nursery was originally called Azim Bagh; built by the Mughals in the 16th century, it was later used by the British to grow exotic plants which gave it the title of ‘nursery’. This nursery was recently turned into a heritage site as it has many historical monuments. It boasts lotus-shaped fountains and two 16th-century gumbads, Sunderwala Burj and Lakkar Wala Burj. These gumbads have been freshly painted and restored and look astonishingly beautiful with colourful flowers all around them.

This complex is adjacent to Humayun's Tomb, so it’s pretty easy to find. You can also buy saplings of trees and flowers here since this is one of the biggest government-owned nurseries. Today, the nursery contains 15 heritage monuments and over 300 trees, making it Delhi’s first arboretum AKA a botanical garden dedicated to trees.

Visit this lush green heritage site on a cosy morning to bask in its beauty and have a sunny picnic at!
