The Delhi Government is making sure that if the need arises, there are ample beds in the city to cater to the needs of COVID-19 patients. The plan is to convert several hotels and banquets into healthcare centres. And recently, this famous hotel in the city has been roped in for COVID duty.

Reporting For COVID Duty Now | The Taj Mahal Hotel AKA Taj Mansingh Hotel has been given the responsibility to provide rooms and food to COVID-19 patients. This hotel will be attached to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital to help the city combat surging infections. The hospital will compensate for the shortage of staff and will also have to provide ambulance services. They have fixed the room rent at Rs 5,000 for a day and only up to Rs 5,000 can be charged for medical services excluding oxygen cylinders. The same has been fixed at a rental of Rs 2,000 per day

The hotel staff will be provided with protective gear and basic training. Plus, nurses and doctors can stay in the hotel, but the hospital will have to bear these expenses. Besides this, The Suryaa and Crowne Plaza have also been roped in for COVID duty and they will be attached to Holy Family Hospital and Batra Hospital, respectively.

With several hotels stepping in to give back to the society, let’s do our bit by adhering to social distancing and taking all the necessary precautions.
