Dilli Haat is what springs to mind when we're craving a slice of heritage along with some desi #ShoppingGoals! It's no secret, however, that it's easy to overshoot your budget by a couple of thousands (minimum) here owing to the irresistible silver jewellery, hand-embroidered sarees and leather bags that lure you in with their understated elegance and easy charm (even if you're heading in with blinders on), dammit! Even if you haggle like the devil, you'll still end up with that nagging feeling that you could've done more. *Sigh*  

But what we described above is merely the scenario INSIDE the enclosure. Have you ever stopped to take a look at the mini shopping paradise that lies right OUTSIDE?! We're spotlighting the street vendors in front of the main entry gates selling their wares at prices that'll restore your faith in humanity!

Life isn't perfect, but your accessories sure can be! Got that gold-toned choker or those pretty jhumkas lying in your wish list since forever? Can't let go of this college trend? You won't have to when it costs as little as 30 bucks. That's cheaper than a plate of chicken momos guys! Go ahead and treat yourself. Sometimes, the wreaths aren't on prominent display and one might have to ask around for them specifically, so be sure to do that!

Cuff Bracelets  

Colourful bangles, wristbands and cuffs are also up for grabs at nominal rates. If you're still assembling your college looks for the season and the overcrowded battlegrounds at SN and Janpath can go to hell, then come this side for a look-see fo' shizzle!

2. Apparel 

As of now, we could spot only one guy selling clothes at a fixed price of Rs 100 (awesome!) who had some really good-looking pieces - breezy summer dresses, pyjamas for those 8:40 AM classes, and loose tops galore! But you gotta sift through the avalanche. Heads up – not everything here is for 100 bucks.

3. Books & Posters 

Bona fide bibliophile? If you prefer books over looks any day, then browse away at this stall which has both original as well as pre-loved editions of popular titles. It's the first thing you see when entering from the right. The same guy also sells posters of popular bands, films and TV series to perk up your pad!

4. Fabric Hair Braiding

Head to the string of female hawkers stationed here if you're bored and up for experimenting with your hair. You'll be greeted by an expert analysis on what colour and tone suits your mane before the lady deftly braids it with your chosen fabric. Go sober with a single colour or light it up with metallic strands, fringes and beads *starry eyed*!

5. Home Décor & Stationery  

Stationery lovers, make a note of the beautiful range of notebooks here – embellished, printed and even cane ones with a basket weave! The vibrant palettes mixed with strokes of elegance add so much personality and make each piece unique. Besides these lovelies, there are jewellery boxes with mirror work, photo frames, jazzy dibiyas for tiny essentials and ethnic showpieces on ready display too!
