A lot of students excel in extracurricular activities, with some of them being exceptionally good at sports. As practices have ceased for the past few months, here’s how the plan is to bounce back to a somewhat normal routine.

Training Begins? | From what we’ve heard, school students in Delhi will soon be able to resume their training in stadiums and sports complexes which are run by the Directorate Of Education (DoE). The body operates 3 stadiums - Chhatrasal, Thyagaraj & Bawana and 32 sports complexes such as the one in Mundhela Kalan. The plan is to resume the operation in phases and only 5-10 people will be allowed in the beginning, to be followed by larger groups and finally by complete training by teams.

Sports have been divided into 3 categories based on physical contact like archery included in minimal contact category that should have the player and the staff maintaining 1.5-2 metres.
Games like football have been categorised as limited contact and for this purpose, only 3 people can train together in a group and they won’t be allowed to switch teams. But for the ones with maximum contact such as Judo, Boxing, Karate and more, it has been advised to use punching bags or sand.

However, since the equipment will be shared, it has been directed to sanitise them after each use. Plus, it would not be possible to train while wearing a mask, so besides then, it will mandatory to wear masks at all times. The facilities are now open between 6:30 - 9:30 AM and 4:30 - 7:30 PM for all students above 10 years and private academies and coaches.

Everyone will be screened before entering and there will be sanitisation equipment installed at the gates. They will also have to submit a written confirmation declaring their COVID-19 symptom-free condition.

So you think it’s the right time to open these centres?
