No More Losing Metro Cards | The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will soon be introducing an upgraded contactless ticketing system for the Delhi Metro under a new field that is being termed as Near Field Communication (NFC), that might be able to make your smartphones act as metro smart cards! Isn’t that some fabulous news?
Well, this new system will also enable a near contactless experience and it will also be able to let the commuters pay directly from their debit/credit cards, near-field communication, QR code-based ticketing mobile phones, and paper QR tickets apart from the smart cards! What’s more, penalty deductions will also be possible through smart cards after upgrading!
To enable this, the DMRC will install around 44 new Automatic Fare Machines(AFM) in Phase IV, while the already installed AFM machines will also be updated! How cool will that be? Do let us know what you this about this leap to modern technology in the city and upgrading our Delhi Metro experience?!
