Little Chef's food is inspired by the unique concept of global street food which picks out the best elements of different cuisines and adds a little bit of an Indian tadka to them! The place is located opposite the Jwala Heri market beside the mall on the main road and they have other branches in Punjabi Bagh and Karol Bagh too.

So let’s jump straight into our foodie shenanigans.

Veg Biryani

The Veg Biryani came with a gravy that tasted similar to the base of Shahi Paneer. The flavours were spot on and every piece of rice was noticeable without sticking to one another in the handi - a great sign! The gravy and onions went great with it. Take note that the Chicken/Mutton Biryani is priced 200 bucks higher than the Veg Biryani which is quite a gap.

Chicken Tikka Roll

Little Chef originally started as a roll joint in the same locality and because of the immense popularity they got, they turned into a casual dining restaurant however they still have a roll-full menu that offers fillings that you haven’t even heard of. Things like Mexican Salsa Chicken Roll and Peri Peri Chicken Roll sounded awesome but sadly none of that was available. This was a basic roll with huge chunks of chicken which could have been more succulent and smeared with more sauces other than a mint chutney. Nothing remarkable about it.

Paneer Tikka

When you go to a restaurant there are some stapes you can not stop yourself from ordering because if they get that wrong you know you're not coming back! For a lot of us, that special dish is Paneer Tikka and we've got to say that they nailed it. The paneer was soft as clouds and the tangy marinade hit all the right notes on our tongue. Everything was chargrilled to perfection and we could not let it rest until it was all finished!!

American Chopsuey

This consisted of crispy fried noodles with a gravy based stir fry of veggies that can be made according to your choice of flavours. It is not the most unusual dish but not many people consider it their go to dish. It tasted decent but there wasn’t anything particularly impressive about it. We definitely have had better!

Singapuri Noodles

This spicier version of the chinese cuisine based noodles is cooked with paneer chunks and a lot of veggies to make it a bit more munchy. The noodles seemed to be a little oily for our liking. There weren’t too many veggies or paneer and the quantity was also what you get at any normal chinese van.

Price | Rs 110

To note - since the parking space is ample in the area a lot of people park near this joint at night and enjoy food in their car with some pints of beers. Everything they serve is actually stereotypical beer food and that is one of the reasons for its popularity.

One thing we noticed is that over the years their prices have been increasing consistently with non-veg items being drastically higher than its veg counterpart. Also the staff seemed a little haughty and they can surely improve on that. Nothing tasted particularly bad but not everything lived up to their street cred. Some people also say that the quality of their food is not really consistent and we believe that might be true.

Overall we feel that the management needs to revamp the whole space if they want to compete with the super cool cafes in the same locale!
