History In Full Shine | After decades of silence, it’s none other than the Sheesh Mahal, Delhi’s very own palace of mirrors, now restored and reopened to the public as of July 2, 2025. This 17th-century Mughal-era marvel, built during the reign of Emperor Shah Jahan, had long stood in disrepair, locked away from public view. A full-scale revival, led by the Archaeological Survey of India and the Delhi Development Authority, has returned the structure to its original glory. Inaugurated by Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the reopening marks a major milestone in preserving Delhi’s layered cultural legacy. From intricate mirror work to restored Mughal-style gardens, every corner has been carefully brought back to life using traditional techniques. The once-forgotten monument now shines again- its beautiful design showing off the grandeur of the Mughal era, and its gates are finally open for people to explore, admire, and experience. Sheesh Mahal is no longer just a name in history, it’s back and ready to be celebrated.
Sheesh Mahal is no longer hidden behind locked gates. Go see what history really looks like.
