Rose Pasta, Nutella Waffles & More: Exactly What To Order @ 6 Degree, Safdarjung

There are days when you experience a widespread apathy in your body and just want a ray of hope, a sense of freshness, a bit of change. And what do we do when we feel like this? We explore! We eat! We move out of our cosy abode scavenging through the multiple outlets to finally stop at one which can satiate us to the core.

This time our soul was satisfied at a food outlet serving some amazing yummies in Safdarjung Enclave, going by the name of 6 Degree. Located in the heart of DDA market in Safdarjung enclave, the aroma of freshly cooked food could be felt the moment we entered the market. It’s a small shop with majority of the area dedicated to its kitchen. The face of the shop flaunts a large board hung on the top displaying the delicacies offered by the joint. There’s only outer seating, just behind the shop which can regale up to 40 people approx. at a time.

With a motive of devouring something unique and wondrous, we gorged on the following:

Kitkat Shake

Despite having a long list of coolants in the drinks section, their Kitkat Shake was the most sought after drink by their patrons and hence it became our obvious choice of order. A synthesis of milk, four KitKat sticks, chocolate sauce and sugar syrup was served to us in a bottle. Though the sweetness level was maintained throughout, the taste of the shake was ordinary with no visibility of KitKat, either in the bottle or the taste. All we can say is that the vigour with which it was ordered was lost, with this drink passing with grace marks.

Peri Peri Garlic Bread

6D boasts of serving one of the spiciest versions of garlic bread in town and we couldn’t agree more! Doing complete justice to the name of the dish, four portions of garlic bread with a topping of diced onions and a layer of mozzarella cheese were baked with expertise. The essence of this item was derived from the blend of spices used in the topping. Keeping the spicy quotient at the zenith without compromising on the quality, the bread was crispy, evenly baked with the spirit of spices lingering on!

Rose Pasta (Veg)

Perplexing as it sounds, we were actually keen on trying our hands on this item off their menu. The prima facie look of this dish had us salivating. Penne pasta, boiled to perfection and stirred in mixed sauce along with diced capsicums and tomatoes was garnished with celery and mozzarella cheese shavings, and served with a portion of garlic bread. 

The highlight of the dish was the pinkish texture and a rosy taste, due to the use of rose water while stirring the pasta in mixed sauce. The presence of oregano and moderate spices with a hint of sugar complemented each other and added a certain zing to the flavour of the dish. Drooling yet?!

Waffle With Nutella & Ice-Cream

The one dish which people are able to relate with 6D is their waffles! An enormous waffle with a tantalizing aroma was served with Nutella smeared all over and a dollop of vanilla ice-cream over the top, which was then garnished with Hershey’s chocolate syrup! This piece of happiness was served hot, had a nice crunch on the outside with a squishy filling inside. Just a heads up, be quick in devouring this one as it turns soggy soon!

All in all, the place is good in terms of its menu, variety of veg and non-veg delicacies, the taste being scrumptious and all of this with a decent price tag. Reaching here is easy as Google Maps leads you to the exact location. Psst - the place is open till 12 AM! Happy munching!
