How can you even consider your summer evenings well-spent if you didn’t go for a walk around the city, right? Since the summer days are finally here, we thought we might remind you of this ruined city in the capital but do head out with your mask safely fastened only when the authorities tell you to do. Till then brush up your knowledge and practise social distancing.

Ruins To Recount A Story | This fortified city called Jahanpanah Fort spread from Siri to Qutub Minar was built by Mohammed Bin Tughlaq to protect his residents from the Mongol attacks as suggested by the name itself which literally means ‘refuge of the world’. The historians assume that there would’ve been some palace that was used by Tughlaq for himself and the royal family and the population stayed in the periphery of the wall of the fort. The Begum Mosque which is also a part of the city was built for worshipping for the royal members and the Sarai Shahji Mahal was used as an inn along with several other monuments like Lal Gumbad amongst other tombs, mosques and palaces.

This city has now been ruined, however, the remnants always have a story to tell, don’t they? Well, then, what could be better than taking a walk around this ruined city with your bae on a sunny afternoon and unfolding the untold stories amidst the remains, of course, when the current situation improves? Oh, and don’t forget to take a camera along, since, this place is a perf spot for a royal photoshoot! But hey, only when COVID-19 is not a threat anymore, okay?

So, head over to this beautiful place once the prohibitory orders are lifted and don’t forget to spam your social media feeds!
