As y’all know that ‘tis the season of festivities and the city is usually buzzing with excited shoppers and illuminated by twinkling fairy lights. But this year these boisterous celebrations may not be the same due to the fear of the COVID-19. And here’s what the recent order of the Delhi Govt. says about the same.
Baby Steps? | On Sunday, the 11th of October, the Delhi Government passed a formal order allowing Ramlila and Durga Puja Pandals. But no food stalls, rallies, exhibitions or processions will be allowed until the 31st of October. Thus, it will be important for the organisers to take prior permission from the district magistrates for any festive-related events. According to the guidelines, only 50% of the total capacity of up to 200 people at a time will be allowed in closed spaces. While in the case of open spaces, this will depend on social distancing norms.
There should be strict, separate points of entry and exit, and no one should be allowed inside without a mask. Plus, all the organisers will have to make a video recording of the event from the beginning to the end, on all days of the programme after which this will be shown to the administrations to obtain a certificate saying that Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) of the Government of India and the Government of Delhi hasn’t been violated.
What do you think about this grant of permission?
