This Is A Representative Image
There are developments happening in the metro at a very fast pace and we just heard about this new one that will defo make travelling tad bit easier for people using the Pink Line.
The Missing Link | So, we just heard that the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has started floating tenders for the pre-bid meeting for the construction of the viaduct between the metro stations of Trilokpuri and Mayur Vihar Pocket 1. Supposed to be completed by the mid of 2020, it’s said to be the missing link between Delhi Metro’s longest line!
The tenders for this 255-metre long bridge will be opened on Thursday, the 12th of September and the entire process will be conducted in 3-4 months after which the construction will start. Did you know the 58.6-km long network between Majlis Park and Shiv Vihar functioning as an arc makes it the most ambitious DMRC project? Yep.
The corridor operates like 2 separate units with one stretch connecting Majlis Park and Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 and the other one lying between Shiv Vihar and Trilokpuri. This leaves a gap of approximately 4 kms between Trilokpuri and Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 stations. The construction requires the building of 10 metro pillars for this viaduct and the reason why it took so long was that the people living in this densely populated area had to be relocated first.
Guess, travelling might become a tad bit smoother in this area, no?!
