Pay as You May! Here Are Delhi's Rather Generous Pay-as-You-Like Cafes

Bookshelves, funky posters, wood and cane furniture are all things that appeal to a traveler;  Kunzum Travel Café has all of these things plus delectable tea and coffee served with a smile. Ranging from simple basic Indian tea to the exotic Jasmine tea, the place has seven varieties to offer alongside a very toned-down homely ambience. And for what? A bill that reads Rs 0. However, they do have a donation box where you can pay any amount that you like.

Done to reflect a certain refined eclecticism in its air, the May Day Café is a book store, a popular theatre events’ venue and a cafeteria all rolled into one stunning entity. Performances that can be enjoyed free of cost are lined up by Jana Natya Manch most of the days. The hospitable café serves tea, coffee, other beverages and cakes all through the month however third Sundays of every month are reserved for special brunches. With all the necessary emphasis on promoting reading as a habit and other arts, the café follows a pay-as-you-like model and provides you the freedom to exercise your own discretion.

The  brainchild of celebrated photographer and filmmaker Mr Manuj Mehta, this kitschy café is just the right place to meet like minded individuals who take pleasure in all things ‘travel.’ The café comes decorated with bright hued low seating, books and travel pictures that set the vibe just right. What’s more desirable? Order anything from the menu and it costs just a single dollar which is just as good as pay what you like!
