Parking Chargers Will Likely Increase In Congested Markets Such As Sarojini, CP, K-Nags & More
This one’s for all those shopaholics who spend half their lives scouting through Lajpat, Kamla Nagar, CP, and other such markets. Soon, you might have to shell out a fare as high as 500 - 700 bucks for parking your vehicles on the streets! (Wait, What?)
Bargaining For Parking Too? | Driving to popular markets might now be an expensive affair as soon there might be additional charges on original parking fares. So, basically, there would be a base fee which will be capped at Rs 10 for all four-wheelers and Rs 5 for all two-wheelers. Although, the base fee will be quiet less, however, the actual fee will be calculated after taking in the additional charges such as location, congestion, peak hours etc.
For instance, if you park in a commercial parking area during peak hours, the charge would be Rs 60 and if you park it for 5 - 6 hours, the price could go up to Rs 500 - Rs 700. Besides, the charges for on-street parking will be twice as high as the charges of off-street or multi-level parking and will increase exponentially with each additional hour. The authorities have decided to fix peak hours as 9 - 11 AM and 5 - 8 PM.
So, peeps, gear up as now you might have to consider taking alternative transport options instead of private cars.
