And just a month into the scheme, a number of residents have already received their bills and here’s the verdict.
Killing The Bill | We just got wind that around 14.64 lakh households in the National Capital paid zero amount for the electricity bill generated for the month of September. The Delhi Government announced its scheme of providing free electricity if the usage is upto 200 units! Yep, and the maximum number of beneficiaries from this subsidy has been from South and West Delhi. The electricity is being supplied to these areas by the BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL).
The data provided by the power department suggests that approximately 28% of the total 52.27 lakh domestic consumers paid a zero charge for the electricity used in the previous month. Moreover, last month the Delhi Government announced the Mukhyamantri Kirayedar Bijli Meter Yojna under which tenants can also avail the benefits of this bill!
