Noida dwellers, it’s time to cheer! A brand spanking new airport is slated to pop up in Greater Noida at Jewar, for which construction will start in 2019. *Happy dancing!*

What’s Coming Our Way? | The Jewar airport will start with an initial passenger capacity of 60 lakh people, when it opens in March 2023, and will then go on to accommodate 10 crore flyers by 2050. Woah!

And what’s more, it’s being speculated that the newbie airport will be connected by more than 2 train networks to Delhi. The UP Government is looking at the feasibility of having a Rapid Rail Transit System from Sarai Kale Khan to the airport site.

The Greater Noida Metro will also be extended to connect with the Jewar airport. In addition, the government is also planning to run a train linking IGI Airport to this new upcoming airport, which is awesome!

The airport will be built in four phases, at a total cost of Rs 15,000 crores *wow*. The site will have 3 to 4 runways initially, and this number will later be increased depending on air traffic volume. AND, an Aerocity, like the one near Delhi airport, will also be developed here. Now that’s interesting!

Looks like we’re soon gonna have a swanky airport with a really happening Aerocity! *Can’t wait!*
