The month of October and November is not just filled with the excitement of festivities but also the looming cover of air pollution that blankets the city. And to combat this situation the Supreme Court has passed an order that y’all must pay attention to.
Silent Festivities Ahead | The buzz is that the Supreme Court has declared only two types of firecrackers legal this Diwali. These being the greener version of anar and phuljhari which will be silent and will emit 30% less air pollution. Everything else, which includes rockets, bombs and several other noisy ones have been banned. So, if you go to buy crackers, you might want to check for the official stamp before you proceed to buy for the same.
The phuljari and anar will come in 2 colours and a box of 50 phuljaris or 5 anars will be available for 250 bucks. The green crackers have been introduced keeping in mind the terrible quality of air in the city during this season. These ones had been developed last year itself but could not be produced in bulk quantities before Diwali. Let’s hope we can breathe easily this Diwali.
