When the liquor shops finally opened in the city after a long time, it resulted in utter chaos with people openly flouting rules and overcrowding the shops resulting in massive queues, over a kilometre or more. So, this is what the government is doing to tackle this issue.

Token For Booze? | The Delhi Government has launched an e-token system that lets you grab a token for the purchase of alcohol from the liquor store. The tokens can be taken from ‘https://www.qtoken.in/’, wherein the people will first have to log in, provide their name and phone number, following which the e-token will be sent to the phone and then they can collect their token. There will be separate queues for people with and without the token.

Did you know only 50 tokens will be issued per hour? Yep, this step has been taken to ensure social distancing is observed at the 160 liquor shops that are now open in the city. Even though chalked circles were drawn outside the shops for people, rules were still openly flouted.

However, due to the heavy traffic, the website ended up crashing but it will soon be up and running again.
