New Delhi Rising: The People Who Troop All Over Town Fixing Public Spaces & Painting 'Em Over!

New Delhi Rising is a group of volunteers aiming at ‘spot fixing’ i.e. restoring and reclaiming public spaces by fixing the issue and then painting over it to make it look new as ever!

Walls, market spaces, flyovers and other public spots have been given life all thanks to New Delhi Rising, and thus the city does have a bunch of ‘spots’ fixed now. Original inspiration was provided by the “Do it yourself” Bengaluru-based group known as ‘The Ugly Indian’ which has completed many projects in Bengaluru over the years. It’s a purely volunteer-run organisation, where the time and effort of socially-conscious and active individuals brings about transformational change. 

Even the funding is done in-house, the volunteer pitches in Rs 200 while doing a ‘spot fix’ and that's about it. They don’t have any form of commercialized funding. Check out their work on their page as well as in reality at various nooks and crannies in the city!
