Hello, fellow Delhizens! If there’s one thing a Delhiite probably dreads, it’s walking towards their platform to catch their train during the rush of the festive season. But this might soon change in the near future with this update to the railway station.

Hopefully Coming Up, Next | So, the buzz that the New Delhi Railway Station is all set to get a huge 100-feet-wide foot over bridge (FOB) by next year which will handle a massive load of 2-5 lakh passenger footfall! There are already 3 existing ones and this addition will be equal to 5 conventional FOBs combined together - woah! After it’s erected, this FOB will run across 16 platforms and will even have space for a seating area.

The structure will aim to ease congestion at the station and it will act as a ‘second platform’ for passengers and will reduce the crowd at the actual ones. The existing ones are not enough to handle the crowd which drastically increases to 5-6 lakhs during festive seasons. Once the proposal is approved by the union minister the basic design and plan will be made to include all the basic amenities.

Plus, out of the three existing bridges, the central bridge is supposed to be connected to the upcoming skywalk which will connect the Ajmeri Gate side of the station to the Airport Express Line Metro station.

So, what do you think about this piece of news?
