DelhiNew Building Plans Will Have To Reserve 20% Of Its Parking Space For E-Vehicles
This Is A Representative Image
Electric vehicles help in reducing carbon emissions and are said to be eco-friendly. There are several people who’re moving towards this option for an environment-friendly lifestyle and so, this move will likely encourage more people to ‘switch gears.’
For A Greener Society | Under the new municipal rules, it will now be mandatory to reserve 20% of parking space in any new upcoming building projects for electronic vehicles. All future infrastructure projects like hospitals, malls and housing societies, to name a few, will have to reserve a spot for these vehicles with provisions for charging. Failing to display reserved spots for e-vehicles will lead to denial of approval for the project.
The aim of this step is to create a positive move towards the adoption of cleaner technologies. Plus, the buildings should also have an additional power load that will be required by the charging points. Any charging station installed at non-housing buildings will be treated as public stations.
Let’s hope this move pushes a trend towards adoption of environment-friendly technology!
