Netaji Subhash Marg Up For A Whole New Look: Food Plazas, Walkways & Loads More!
A food plaza at Old Delhi’s Netaji Subhash Marg? WHAT? Yep, it’s true guys. Inspired by Amritsar’s heritage corridor project, the Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation (SRDC) has agreed to beautify part of Netaji Subhash Marg from Daryaganj signal to Lothian Bridge in Old Delhi. Cool!
There will be a 1 km stretch in front of the Red Fort spruced up with display panels showcasing the history of Shahjahanabad and food plazas, street furniture, walkways, ample space for street vendors and lanes for cycles and other non-motorized vehicles. Over time, the authorities plan on converting this street to a non-vehicle street altogether!
We’re really looking forward to the building of this new heritage road, as it does seem to look pretty interesting!
