Need To Recharge Your Metro Card? Just Pay Using Your Wrist Watches Now!

Delhi Metro travellers, life just got slightly simpler for you! Delhi Metro commuters will now have the liberty to wear their smart cards on their wrists as DMRC has allowed the use of wrist watches launched by Austrian company LAKS to make payments at the gates! NICE!

These watches are known as Watch2Pay and they’re available online for purchase. The new facility is expected to provide the commuters with more convenient and fast access to the Delhi Metro network. 

The commuter will simply have to touch the wristwatch to the screens of the AFC (Automatic Fare Collection) gates at the metro stations to get access! Perfect. 

These watches will each carry a sim card inside which can be removed and inserted as and when required. The SIM-equipped watch can be recharged also like any usual metro smart-card over the counter or through recharge card terminals.

Sounds like a pretty interesting concept to us, though we can’t help but wonder if it’ll be economical to first buy a watch worth minimum 2999 bucks and then an extra amount on the fares as well! Let’s see how it works out!
