Hola metro travellers! If you get annoyed at the thought of taking an auto or a bus after your metro rides and end up breaking your backs travelling, then fret not! Our dear Noida Metro has a plan up its sleeves to save us from all that last-mile travelling, especially when we’re off to office! Read ahead.
Y’All Might Get 250 New Feeder Buses | The NMRC is planning to introduce feeder buses to connect the upcoming metro stations on the newbie Noida-Greater Noida line with other parts of the city and hence, give us travellers that last mile connectivity that we all are in dire need of. Phew, metro saves the day yet again!
The Noida-Greater Noida metro link is estimated to see a ridership of 1.2 lakhs a day, which may escalate to 4 lakhs by 2031. Woah! The UP State Road Transport has asked for 250 feeder buses at the metro stations, considering the fact that footfall is going to increase over the years.
You’re likely to find these feeder buses in places where demand is high and there is more rush, like Pari Chowk, Sectors 142, 81, 83, 71, 81, 137, 62 and Noida City Centre. According to metro officials, metro stations at Sector 50 and Sector 81 are likely to see more footfall as well, because of residential and commercial areas being all around them.
Peak hours have also been identified - from 6 AM to 11 AM and then again from 4 PM to 9 PM. The frequency of these feeder buses will depend on the peak hour demand.
So if you feel the distance from your nearest metro station to home is too much for a walk, then you can soon hop onto these feeder buses and get a comfortable ride till the metro stations. Easy peasy!
