In a move that’s likely to give a push to heritage tourism and cycling, the New Delhi Municipal Corporation has introduced ‘Heritage Cycle Tours’ in Delhi and this surely seems like a pretty awesome concept!
Routes are being constructed to connect ancient structures dating back to the Tughlaq reign back in the 14th century and the 20th century British era too! It’ll also include monuments that came up during the Lodi and Mughal eras.
For now, NDMC has decided on 10 heritage sites that they want to include in this heritage cycling tour, which include Sikander Lodi’s Tomb, Shisha Gumbad, Muhammad Shah Sayyid’s Tomb in Lodi Garden, Talkatora Garden, Jantar Mantar, Agrasen Ki Baoli, India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Kushal Mahal, Malcha Mahal, and Safdarjung Tomb!
The tours will be conducted on the weekends by the cycling group, under the patronage of Chanakya Puri’s PSOI Club. Sounds awesome to us, and we just can’t wait to cycle around the city now!
