NDLS Will Have An Airport Like Pick & Drop Facility Where Cars Will Be Charged After 8 Mins.
IGI pick and drop facility is a hit amongst the Delhiites, and now Northern Railways is introducing a similar model at the Ajmeri Gate side of the New Delhi Railway Station, that will definitely ease the parking problems that we all face whenever travelling.
Lesser Congestion | The parking-cum-access control rights’ system, introduced by Northern Railways aims to reduce the congestion by charging the vehicles after 8 minutes. The charges for the commercial vehicles will start at Rs 30, and after that, a charge of Rs 50 will be levied. In case a vehicle remains in the 3 lanes for over 30 minutes, there will be a fine of Rs 10,000 and the car will be towed away as well.
For prepaid taxis, there’s a 4th dedicated lane that is not chargeable. A similar model will also be introduced in the Paharganj side, where no pickup and drop facility will be allowed for more than 30 minutes. In case the timings exceed 30 minutes, there will be a fine of Rs 1,000 and the car will be towed away!
So, do you guys think this model will help decongest the parking at the railway station?
