Head to Sanjay Van, Kamala Nehru Ridge or the Central Ridge near Chanakyapuri as soon as it rains. The jungles come alive in the monsoon with chirping birds and lush greenery. And of course, there's nothing better than watching peacocks dance in the rain by spreading their plumes in case you're lucky to spot one. Alternatively, you can also visit Lutyens Delhi, easily the best maintained and cleanest area in town owing to its political importance. The vast open spaces in and around India Gate and the surrounding parks also get greener with the rains!
5. Photography Session at The City's Heritage

Forts are great places to hang around during the monsoons. Due to their naturally epic structures, they provide you with an opportunity to take an impactful picture coupled with looming clouds in the background. While the Red Fort is a bit too crowded, head to Purana Qila which also has the added advantage of a large water body, or to Feroz Shah Kotla where you can climb up the pyramid for a clearer view of the clouds. Humayun's Tomb is also great for capturing panoramic images. For a bit more desolation and open spaces, head out to the Tughlaqabad Fort and Adilabad Forts down south. Waste no time, get your cameras ready and spend a day capturing the storm, lightning & the sinister moods of the sky!
6. Head Out For A Long Spin

Switch off that suffocating AC and open your car windows. It's even better if you have a two-wheeler! Just hit the road to feel the monsoon breeze on your face. The best way to make the most of it is to head close to the Yamuna, and drive across the bridges if possible, like the DND. Unfortunately, the riverfronts in Delhi are not very well developed, but you can still find good spots if you try.

Take all of Delhi's expansive view whilst seated in one of the many rooftop cafes located in Connaught Place, Hauz Khas Village or Khan Market - you won’t regret it! Our current favourites are Mia Bella, Coast Café and Hauz Khas Social, all in HKV & Triveni Terrace Café at Mandi House. Another hidden gem is The Potbelly Rooftop Cafe in Shahpur Jat you can head to for authentic Bihari cuisine!

Head out and make some noise! We’re thinking about everything from jumping in puddles and seeing who can make a bigger splash, madly and carelessly dancing in the rain to floating paper boats, doing mudslides or just playing some good ol’ football. Go relive your childhood or make some new memories in the rain - it's also the most perfect time to reconnect with some old friends over hot cups of chai!
10. Visit Teen Murti Museum
Wandering across the roads of Delhi's Race Course area, one is often struck by the elitist standards, cleanliness & security maintained there. It’s like being transported to an other-worldly part of the city - be it the wide roads, the well-maintained greenery, or that instant moment of patriotism! The Teen Murti Bhavan is a museum & an extensive library, perhaps the biggest in town, existing in its vicinity and thus makes for a great escape during the rainy season – their lush gardens are a real treat for the eyes!
11. Ride Along The Ho-Ho Bus
The best way to experience Delhi during the rains is to hop on the Ho-Ho Bus (hop On Hop Off tourist bus) and enjoy some of the most picturesque landmark sights The best part is you don't even have to plan an excursion in advance, just choose the stop at which you want to board the bus/metro and roam around as long as you like! Delhi walas love for a cup of kadak chai exceeds and supersedes even all of the greatest love stories, Rains are legit incomplete without tea, so head over to some of the oldest tea stalls in Delhi, which are the best, given the weather. Head to the narrow lanes of Old Delhi & Chandni Chowk in search of your hot cuppa, or just head over for the quirky butter tea at Wazirduddin Ji’s tea stall near Jama Masjid. You can also head to the small stalls like Neelkatra & Malo Tea stall- old and iconic tea stalls of the area. If you’re in North Delhi, Sudama Tea Stall is your way to go!
