For all those of you who frequently travel between Delhi and Gurugram, you’d be pleased to know that there might soon be an extension upto Udyog Vihar!

Yellow Line To Get A New Corridor | The buzz is that the Haryana Govt. approved the construction of another metro corridor for DMRC’s Yellow Line, creating a 31-km long corridor connecting with the Rapid Metro in DLF Cyber City. This project was approved by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and will now be sent to the Union Govt. for further approval. Plus, the construction for the same will begin next summer when the necessary approvals are in place and the requisite land has been acquired.

The new metro corridor is likely to be functional by 2024 and the extension might feature an interchange point and may include 23 new stations including Sector 10, Sector 9, Sector 7, Technology Park, Udyog Vihar Phase 6, Basai, Sector 4, Sector 5, Ashok Vihar, Sector 3, Krishna Chowk, Sector 45, Cyber Park, Sector 46, Sector 47, Sector 48, Palam Vihar Extension, Palam Vihar, Sector 23 A, Sector 22, Udyog Vihar Phase 4 and 5 and Sector 37.

Plus, a 2-km long extension corridor from Basai to Dwarka Expressway for better connectivity and a 3-km one from Sector 22 to Cyber City Rapid Metro has also been approved (cool!). Moreover, The Haryana Mass Rapid Transportation has recommended the setting up of a ‘high-power committee’ that will deal with issues related to diversion of utilities, land acquisition and the rehabilitation of people who’re affected by this.

Awesome! We’re hoping this pans out soon!
