Metro Cards That Are Reported 'Unreadable' Will Now Be Replaced Instantly & Free Of Cost!
We’ve all faced issues at the AFC gates of the metro, where sometimes, our metro cards get rendered unreadable due to technical reasons. It’s especially annoying when we’re in a rush and then this happens, urgh. And then, you end up waiting for five days to get your metro cards back. Isn’t that infuriating? But hey, seems like better times are in the offing for we’ve chanced upon some incredible news!
What’s Up? | So the DMRC, our BFF, has decided to simplify this entire process of reclaiming smart cards that have become unreadable. So now, you won’t have to wait for five days to recover your metro cards. Rather, you can do it on the spot, as the DMRC officials will replace these unreadable cards with new ones for you, free of cost!
You can recharge these newly-issued metro cards with whatever amount you need for the journey. So no more wasting time unnecessarily at the stations, thank God!
On that note, did you know that currently 70% of passengers use these smart cards? Around 600 cards are reported unreadable on a daily basis, 30% of which are due to physical damage caused to them.
But anyway, we’re just so happy that we won’t have to wait for those extra five days to get our cards back. Phew!
