A small cart huddled on one side of a congested lane, radiating an aroma that’ll lure you straight to it - that is the typical image that we Dilli wallas associate with a tiny nankhatai cart in the lanes of Old Delhi. And now that winter is finally upon us, it’s time to head over to these busy lanes for our mandatory cup of chai and Nankhatai to go with it, right?

The Ideal Sardi Ka Snack | For us Delhizens, winters essentially mean a cup (preferably kulhad) of chai and nankhatais. And so, we’re on our way to Purani Dilli for our cuppas and bites. These scrummies are made of suji, maida, ghee, sugar and cardamom - basically all things nice and yummy!

You'll find carts selling these tiny cookies almost everywhere in Old Delhi, be it Paranthe Wali Gali, Dariba Kalan and more. Generally, one kg of nankhatais (which will have about 70 pieces) will cost you somewhere around Rs 200.

So are you ready to dip these soft and crunchy desi cookies into your steaming hot kulhads of tea and make the most of Delhi winters? Then rush over to Old Delhi, peeps!
