Ticksy is a cute little cafe tucked into a mini plaza of sorts on Shivalik Road, Malviya Nagar. It offers three tables and both indoor and outdoor seating. The decor is fantastic and unusual - the murals painted on the wall are appealing and truly Instagram worthy! There are cane chairs and tables, beautiful framed artworks, little potted plants and dream catchers of all sizes. There’s also a canvas blackboard for announcing the day’s specials and cutesy plant holders for storing napkins, menus and other odds and ends. We also spotted a beautiful collage made from pages of Archie's’ comics which is plastered on the billing counter.

Ticksy also serves an all day breakfast menu and the portions are good, so even two dishes can suffice for two people easily. Prices are not so high considering their primo ingredients, and the combo meals are value for money. They even have power meals for quick grabs. The menu is designed for students and take-away/home deliveries which probably gives them more business than the walk-ins. There is enough variety in drinks and snacks with almost more than a hundred dishes on the menu. It serves both healthy and junk food, catering to all tastes.

Without further ado, here’s what we tried at this charming little cafe!

Peanut Chocolate Milkshake

This shake was a perfect blend of both peanuts and chocolate with an amazing aftertaste! It was filling, yet not overly heavy like super thick smoothies. It was cold enough even without the ice cream blend and refreshed us to the core. Full marks to this yummy drink here at Ticksy!

Mac And Cheese Pasta

The Mac and Cheese Pasta came with two pieces of garlic bread which were cold and stale. The pasta had too much gravy, which isn’t always a bad thing. It was a little bland (low on salt) though the spice mix added was full of flavour. All in all, we managed to heartily satisfy ourselves with this one.

Peri Peri Chicken Meal

We were most excited about this particular dish but, alas, it disappointed us! The chicken wasn’t up to mark, it was hard and the rice was definitely not freshly cooked. The sauce drizzled on the chicken somewhat salvaged it for us, even though it tasted more like BBQ sauce and not peri-peri.

The sauteed veggies, on the other hand, were excellent. Mushroom, zucchini, baby corn, broccoli, cherry tomatoes and coloured bell peppers tossed in oil, crushed garlic and the spice mix (oregano, salt and pepper) really enticed our taste buds. This dish was also presented beautifully, but overall could have been better.

Margherita Pizza

Upon lots of gooey cheese, there were halves of cherry tomatoes, sundried tomatoes, basil leaves, oregano and lots of chilli flakes. The pizza was satisfactory in every way except the crust, which we felt was a bit under-cooked. But it still made us very happy and we polished off every last morsel in a jiffy!

There’s free WiFi in the cafe and charging points are also available which is a bonus for its targeted, young clientele. All in all, this is a great place for ordering in for a house party or evening snacks especially when you don’t feel like cooking or having ghar ka khaana. Worth a try!!
