Listen Up Hookah Lovers: The Akali Dal Is Seeking A Blanket Ban On Hookah In Delhi

Hookah lovers, there might be some sad news in line for you guys! The Akali Dal is all set to seek a ban on hookahs in Delhi, and have already made a plea to the National Green Tribunal.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa, the General Secretary of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee initiated the idea to ban hookahs in Delhi. Based on a study done by WHO and Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, it was concluded that hookah smoke contains many of the harmful toxins which can cause lung cancer, respiratory illness, low birth weight and periodontal diseases.

A hookah smoking session exposes the smoker to more smoke over a longer period of time. Also, due to the method of smoking including frequency of puffing, depth of inhalation and length of smoking, Hookah smokers absorb higher concentration of toxins!

Don’t know if we’re for or against this, but surely we shall miss our hookah sessions if it gets banned!
