Popular wholesale and retail markets in the heart of Delhi are likely to remain closed on 2nd & 3rd of February in protest against the ongoing sealing drive that’s taking a toll on the city! This will be the second time the traders will be going on such a drive to fight against what they believe is ‘arbitrary sealing’ by the authorities.
Earlier on 23rd January, thousands of shops remained shut in places like Khan Market, GK I & II, South Ex, Defence Colony, Connaught Place, Karol Bagh, Kamla Nagar and Krishna Nagar. And the best bit was that all major political parties, including the Bharatiya Janata Party, had come out in support of the traders.
Since no concrete response has come from the Centre regarding this sealing drive even after the last bandh, the traders are taking to the streets again and making sure that this time at least the Centre offers some answers and clarifications.
Hoping for an amicable resolution to this problem *fingers crossed*!
