All Peas In A Pod | India will get its first and the world's longest pod taxi in Noida. Now, what exactly are pod taxis? They are electronic cubicle-shaped taxis that are generally driverless. The futuristic pod taxi concept has been approved by The Yamuna Authority and the project has been handed over to YEIDA. Initially, it was planned for the circuit to cover the route from Jewar International Airport to Film City which is approx 12 KM, however, a significant change in the plans has led the project to extend to Greater Noida’s Pari Cowk making it span at least 25 KM. A budget of ₹810 crores was set for developing pod taxis but with YEIDA issuing a tender with the bid starting at ₹641 crore, the project cost will see a symbolic rise. The mini cubicle taxis can accommodate up to 37,000 passengers in a day’s travel with 12 stations, like Toy Park, Film City, Sector 34, Rabupura Village, Apparel Park, Sector 29 and many more. Now, that’s something!
So, folks, are you ready to witness a futuristic phenomenon?
