Illiterati Cafe in Dharamshala is All Sorts of Awesome & Magical & Here's Why!

Abhinav Chandel is quite the explorer and his Instagram feed gives us constant #TravelFeels! We happened to chance upon this hidden gem which has been covered by him on quite a few occasions. When in Dharamshala, visit this gem! Here's all about it, in his own words:

"Why Illiterati? They always asked me.

And I everytime took them to my favourite bookshelf in the place, containing these amazing travel fiction and photography books from around the world, where in between the bookshelf is a nice hideout to sit and read in.

I took them to the balcony, where sipping our coffees we stared at the snowcapped ranges of Lower Himalayas and heard someone playing piano, kept in the cafe.
And as we turned around I showed them, how all the strangers in the cafe were busy interacting with each other, sharing tables and benches, dropping inhibitions to connect with each other.

I told them that beyond food and views and the amazing book collection here, this bookstore-cafe has always been a place to interact, to find your new best friends, about how many ideas that begun from here, how many friendships too, and how everyone who has been a regular part of this cafe, no matter where they are in the world, continues to be the part of Illiterati family and understands that this space is so much more than just a cafe or a bookstore.

And there's no doubt that I continue to call it the best place to be at in Mcleodganj, nestled in a small village at the periphery of town, away from all noise and tourist crowd, this is a place where you can spend days, weeks, months or just like me, years".
