IIT Delhi Has Launched Affordable COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Testing Kit Priced At Rs 50!

COVID-19 has been impacting daily life tremendously since its advent in the country, and getting an early appointment for the test can be a tedious task. However, the Indian Institute Of Technology, Delhi has launched an affordable rapid antigen test kit for COVID-19 that will make testing easier and faster!

An Affordable COVID-19 Testing Kit | As you have already heard, IIT Delhi has launched a kit that is super affordable at just Rs 50 and is supposed to be 100% indigenously developed and manufactured. This antigen testing kit has been developed by the centre for biomedical engineering of IIT Delhi led by professor Harpal Singh.

The aim of developing this testing kit is to ensure that the rural and semi-rural areas in the country have access to a much more affordable testing option. This test is found to be suitable for early Ct values between 14 to 32 with a sensitivity of 90%, specificity of 100%, an accuracy of 98.99%, and has been certified by the ICMR.

This just made testing much more affordable right?
