If you’re an ardent Agatha Christie fan, then trust us, you don’t wanna miss out on this experience! We’re sure you’ve read Christie’s iconic novel, The Mysterious Affair At Styles, so what if we tell you that we’ve found the place which inspired Christie to write this novel in the first place?! *Wide grins*
The famous Savoy hotel in Mussoorie, opened by Cecil Lincoln back in 1902, has jaw-droppingly pretty Gothic architecture and a (supposedly) haunting vibe. If this sent a chill down your spine, then you really need to spend a few nights here.
How It Inspired Agatha Christie’s Famous Novel | Legend has it that Lady Garnet Orme was found dead in the hotel back in 1910. At first, her death was ruled as suicide, but then deeper investigation revealed the possibility of a murder. The facts of the case managed to reach Christie, who then based her very first novel on the case.
Although our hero, THE Hercule Poirot managed to save the day by unveiling the killer, the actual case remains unsolved till date. Okay, this is giving us the creeps! And what’s more, it’s said that Lady Garnet’s ghost continues to roam the corridors of the hotel. WOAH!
So head over to this place ASAP for some (we’re hoping) paranormal feels, peeps!
