Hello, Delhiites! Y’all remember how we told you guys about the inauguration of the Signature Bridge and the installation of the observatory decks on top of it. Well, a lil birdie told us that the bridge will be closed for a few hours, every day, post-Diwali and we’re gonna tell you why this is being done.

A Temporary Inconvenience | Delhi’s Signature Bridge which connects Wazirabad and East Delhi will be closed for a few hours in the day, after Diwali. The Delhi Tourism and Transportation Department Corporation will be removing heavy equipment and machinery like cranes which were being used for the construction of the Observatory Deck.

The agencies will need 10-12 hours a day for 15-20 days to remove all types of equipment from the site and for this, they will need a halt on the complete flow of traffic. As these pieces of equipment are heavy, the flow of traffic on the bridge will need to be stopped completely during the extraction process. The Signature Bridge was opened last year, but the four-storey observatory deck, which was built at the height of 154 metres was completed in June.

So if you’re someone who commutes via this route, you may have to look for an alternative!
