As the country entered into the 3rd phase of lockdown with some relaxations, the Delhi International Airport Limited is ready with an exit strategy post lockdown. Here’s what’s in store for travellers when the lockdown is lifted.

The Take-Off Strategy | The commercial flights from Indira Gandhi International Airport will operate from Terminal 3 once the lockdown ends. Entry gates, self-check-in machines and check-in bays will be allocated to the airlines to avoid any sort of overcrowding. And the airports will keep all the food & beverages shops open in order to avoid any instance of overcrowding.

Plus there will be ‘ultraviolet disinfection tunnels’ placed for incoming baggage. According to the plan devised passengers for IndiGo and Vistara airlines will enter through gate numbers 1 & 2 only with check-in rows being A, B & C for them. Those for AirAsia and Air India will enter through gate numbers 3 & 4 with check-in at rows D, E and F. The same for SpiceJet and GoAir will be through gate number 5 and check-in will be at rows G & H.

Entry for all domestic flight passengers will be through gate number 5 and they will have to head to Row H. The same for international passengers will be through gate numbers 6, 7 and 8 with rows for the check-in being at J, K, L and M.

So, initially, the flights will resume only from Terminal 3 and once the frequency increases only then will the other terminals be opened.
